The Start

When should you be ready at the starting line?

When registering you will be allotted four different start times to choose from. They are divided into half-hourly intervals and are sorted depending on how popular they are. Red is the most coveted, followed by Orange and lastly Green. In recent years there has also been a fourth interval; Blue**, where you can, via Vätternrundan, donate 250 SEK to the Swedish Children’s Cancer Foundation (Barncancerfonden). You will find your exact starting time and your start card on My Pages.

* Applies to Vätternrundan 315 km, Halvvättern 150 km and Tjejvättern 100 km.

The start card is your ticket

From August 23 your start card will be available on My Pages. You can either print it off or save it directly to your smartphone. By participating you agree to follow our Rules and recommendations.

Change of start time

Your individual start time change can be made via My Pages from July 1 until August 30, 9:00 a.m. for all events except MTB Vättern. The cost for the change is 200 SEK, payable directly via My Pages.
You can also change your start time on site in Motala.

Get to the start on time

The starting point for all of Vätternrundan’s cycling events is next to Motala church in the center of Motala. You must show up at your starting pen no later than 20 minutes before your start time.

Choose the correct starting pen

Participants are sorted into their starting pen by way of on-site screens which indicate the current starting group for each pen. On-site officials will check that no unauthorised persons enter the starting pen. Cyclists set off at the specified signal every two minutes in groups of 50 cyclists.
