UPDATED: 2021-06-07
The finish line remains, but we have decided to move the Bike Week to our back-up date of 2nd-5th September. We have ruled this decision necessary in light of the current situation. So now we are planning, together with your participation, on arranging the best event possible in September.
At Vätternrundan we have worked long and hard in order to arrange an infection-safe event in 2021. We have mapped all parts of the course in order to adapt protocols and measures so as to ensure an infection-safe event. We have also had a continuing dialogue with the county’s Regional Infection Control. It had always been our hope to arrange the Bike Week as planned between 11th-19th June.
Now however, we are in a situation where we have to make a final decision. With the situation as it currently stands; a high infection rate of Covid-19 dictates that we have no other choice than to move the event.
We are going to place all our energy into arranging our fantastic events in September, the best ever, together with your participation. The new dates mean that MTB-Vättern will take place on 2nd September, Vätternrundan 315 km 3rd-4th September and Halvvättern, Tjejvättern and Vätternrundan 100 km 5th September.
Each event will be unique, none more so than Vätternrundan 315 km which for the first time since its inauguration in 1966, you will be able to experience during a different time of year than the week before mid-summer. Not only that, it will also be the premiere for the new section of the extended course. We believe it’s going to be epic!
Another huge advantage is that you will now be able to train all summer to get in shape for this year’s challenge.
Our focus on implementing controlled measures to prevent infection will be just as important in September, so that you can feel as safe as possible during our events. We are working hard to ensure that guidelines and protocols are in place so as to prevent unnecessary spreading of infection. Above all, this means making adjustments to the start, depots and the finish so as to prevent crowding.
If you have registered and have a start time for Vätternrundan 315 km, you will now find that your start has been moved to 3rd-4th September along with the same start time.
This also applies for registrations to MTB-Vättern, which will now take place on 2nd September. As for Halvvättern, Tjejvättern and Vätternrundan 100 km we have had to make some changes to the start times as these events take place on the same day. You can see your current start time in September by logging in to My Pages.
The last day for payment of your start fee is 31st May 20th June 30th June. This date applies regardless of if you have already registered and have an unpaid or partly paid start fee or if you are making a new registration to one of Vätternrundan’s events.
If you have paid partly or in full your start fee and find that you cannot take part in the event in September; there are several options open to you. You can find out more about your options in our FAQ, here below. You can make your choice between 17th–23rd May 7th-13th June.
Much will remain the same during this year’s Bike Week, and some things will be a little different, but our events will take place. And we believe, you can’t wait to get started!
Welcome in September!
