About the race

Tjejvättern is the largest recreational bike ride in Scandinavia for women only. It starts and finishes in central Motala. The route is 100 km long, heading south along Lake Vättern, east towards Skänninge and then north back to Motala through beautiful countryside. About 5000 women participate every year.

Tjejvättern is not a competition and no winners are listed. Instead cyclists wear a timing chip that registers their individual times. These times can be seen under Results. Everyone can check what time they started, when they passed the check points and what time they roll over the finish line in Motala.

Tjejvättern is part of the Swedish Classic Event for Women (“En Svensk Klassiker – Tjej”).

Vätternrundan would never be what it is today if it wasn't for our fantastic partners who share our passion for the sport of cycling.
